So, How Successful Have Our Members Been? This section details our track record of bets for our members. As you will see, our records do show the odd losing month, which unfortunately is completely normal, despite what you may read or hear from other horse racing services. I am well aware (and not afraid to point out) that some betting advisory services often 'sugar coat' their previous results, but not us. Our members would know anyway and I'm sure would cancel their memberships immediately and why wouldn't they, I know I would if I felt I was being cheated. We believe in being upfront and honest about our achievements, warts and all!. It may not cut it in the world of hype that you often see, but we'll show the good months and the not so good months. As you will see by the charts below, thankfully the good months far outweigh the not so good. In terms of operating a properly managed, membership site our records date back to October 2005. 2005 Results
A great start to the official launch of our membership club - we could not have wished for better. A fantastic set of results in November, where we were consistent all month long, sandwiched between two steady but still profitable months in October and December. With the weather the way it was towards the end of 2005 this was a really good effort. These results would lead us nicely into the New Year where we would start 2006 betting with more of the bookies money!
2006 kicked off with another steady start in January, where yet again we saw a profit. The weather however, was proving to be a key factor by holding us back in January, and this carried over into February, where we suffered a dip in form. We eventually clawed it back to only be down by 6 points by the end of the month. That was the only blip that we would suffer all year however, as from that point, we hit a nice purple patch and just kept going and going. A good March got us back into profit in terms of year-to-date figures, and reassured our members of the benefit of being patient and disciplined. And this was borne out as we saw double digit profit gains in April, August, October and November, which meant that we went into December with a huge profit of 76.38 points. An excellent effort by all concerned and a great reward for all of our loyal members. We celebrated Xmas with another consistent performance, registering 4.50 points profit, to end 2006 on a high and very much looking forward to the challenges that will lie ahead for 2007.
So our 2007 end of year total managed to eclipse our success in 2006, which at the start of the year was my overall aim. All the loyal members that stayed with me throughout 2006 saw another profitable year in 2007, and all this despite a rather torrid time at Cheltenham. Once the ground started to firm up in the Summer, the winners came in, and a bumper May and June got us up over 40 points profit for the year to date. There was to be only blip thereafter, in August where our luck deserted us, but in September we had success at Goodwood and Chepstow and then replicated that in October at both Ascot and Cheltenham. We rounded off the year with steady months in November and December to finish on an excellent 82.50 points to the good. Since the start of our membership club, we are over 183 points to the good, so well done to all of those who joined me in having a successful 2007.
2008 Results
We had lofty goals once again for 2008, as I wanted us to try and top 100 points pure profit, having achieved more than 80 points profit in 2007. The first four months of the year were a little up and down, as February and April proved to be tough going for us as we suffered two losing months out of three for the first time ever. Our performance in March did us proud though and despite a disrupted Cheltenham Festival due to adverse weather, we came out on top to the tune of 11.25 points. After the initial slightly shaky start, we were pretty consistent for the remainder of the year, with notable bumper months coming in May (32.25 points profit) and August, when we once again topped 30 points profit, this time with 32.20. We surged through Autumn and into the Winter with yet more consistency, with great results in both England and Ireland, eventually culminating with a solid December finish and an unbelievable end of year profit figure of 115.85, thus achieving what I felt at the time was an ambitious target of exceeding 100 points profit. Thank you members once again for staying with us, and we're already looking forward to 2009, and the question of whether or not we can better 2008's performance.
